I started my professional career in San Diego, California, working in the county health department, a county hospital, and also the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program. I was fortunate to become a Certified Lactation Counselor supporting women with their breastfeeding issues. More recently my professional time is spent helping the eating disordered population. It is incredibly rewarding work, combining my interests of psychology and nutrition.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME…

I am a Sewanee native, moving here from Memphis at age 10 with my family. I attended Sewanee Elementary School, St. Andrew’s-Sewanee, and ended up in college here as well—a bit of a homebody! I played soccer at Sewanee and also ran Track and Cross Country. After graduating from the University of the South I obtained advanced education in Dietetics, lived in Ireland, working with individuals with severe mental disabilities, worked as a line cook and manager at some kitchens of Nashville, and attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Through my travels I snagged a handsome California surfer, married him, and became the lucky mother of a little girl. In my free time I like to sew & quilt, read fiction, hike, vegetable garden, cook, and spend time with friends and family.
